Join Us at Cookies on the Common
Sunday, October 18th from 11am-1pm on Boston Common
We're hosting Cookies on the Common, a cookie potluck in celebration of Joanne's newest book The Joy of Cookies, on October 18th and we hope you can come! A platter of your favorite cookies and a donation to our friends at No Kid Hungry/Share Our Strength are all that you'll need to join in on the festivities.
Your ticket = your donation, all ticket sales will be donated directly to Share Our Strength. Please note that only ticket-holders may participate in this event.

Yes, all guests must bring a platter of at least 48 cookies to participate. Here is a helpful link for best practices from the USDA on cooking for groups. CAN PEOPLE SUBSTITUTE WITH BARS?
What kind of cookies should I bring?
Any flavor combination you'd like! We just ask that you prepare at least 48 cookies displayed on a plate/platter/dessert stand that is no larger than 12"
Do I need to bring anything else?
In addition to your cookies + plate/platter/stand, you should also bring a list of ingredients for your cookies. We will provide a printable template for the ingredients about a week prior to the event.
What does my ticket include?
Your ticket includes entry into Cookies on the Common (cookies! games! music!), access to photograph and sample all of the participating cookies in the sweet zone, and a large box for cookies. 100% of ticket sales will be donated to Share Our Strength's No Kid Hungry campaign.
Will I get my plate/platter/stand back?
Yes! You are responsible for picking up your display vessel from the table at the end of the event.
If I don't have a ticket and I don't bring cookies, can I still attend?
We will have games and music, and you can watch as the bakers display their cookies. Flour will have a limited number of cookies to share while supplies last, but only ticket holders who bring a platter of cookies will have full access entry.
If I have a ticket, can I bring my family and friends?
Unfortunately a limited number of tickets is available. 1 ticket and 1 platter of cookies is required for each persons entry to the cake zone. Friends and family are however welcome to hang out and enjoy the games and music!
Is there a place to sit and enjoy my cookies?
Yes! Plan on a picnic in the grass on Boston Common.
Will there be other food and beverages besides cake?
There will be a complimentary water truck to keep everyone hydrated (bring your own water bottle!). Additional food and drink can be purchased from the Flour Bakery next to the sweet zone.
What if it rains?
If there is a storm forecasted, we will decided by Wednesday 10/14 to reschedule the event to our rain date, Saturday 10/26. All ticket holders will be notified via email.
Where is Cookies on the Common and how do I get there?
Cookies on the Common will take place right next to Flour Boston Common on a green area situated between the tennis courts and the bandstand. It is easily accessible by the Park Street T station (red or green line) or the Boylston Street T station (green line). The Boston Common garage is also a short walk away. Here is a map showing Flour's location in Boston Common.
What if I have an allergy?
All ticket holders will be asked to provide a full list of ingredients to display with their cookies so you can decide which you'd like to taste. Flour Bakery is not responsible for any allergies, attendees should proceed with caution when consuming cakes. Please note that as this is a potluck event, neither the food nor the facilities have been inspected by the state or by a local public health agency.
What if I purchased a ticket and can no longer attend?
Your ticket is a non-refundable donation to the No Kid Hungry campaign. Tickers are however transferrable, please email info@flourbakery.com if you need to transfer your ticket to another baker.
Can I take pictures at the event?
Yes! We would love everyone to take lots of pictures! If you're comfortable sharing, please email your photos to marketing@flourbakery.com or tag us on instagram and tiktok #cookiesonthecommon
Can I bring my pet to Cookies on the Common?
We love your pets! But due to food safety concerns, this is a pet-free event.
