Cake on the Common FAQ
Do I have to bring a cake to attend?
Yes, all guests must bring a cake to attend this potluck-style event.
What kind of cake should I bring?
Any flavor combination you'd like! We just ask that it's an 8-10" cake displayed on a plate/platter/cake stand that is no larger than 12"
Do I need to bring anything else?
In addition to your cake + plate/platter/cake stand, you should also bring a cake server as well as a list of ingredients for your cake. We will provide a printable template for the ingredients about a week prior to the event.
What if it rains?
If there is a storm forecasted, we will decided by Wednesday 10/8 to reschedule the event to our rain date, Saturday 10/25. All ticket holders will be notified via email.
Where is Cake on the Common and how do I get there?
Cake on the Common will take place right next to Flour Boston Common on a green area situated between the tennis courts and the bandstand. It is easily accessible by the Park Street T station (red or green line) or the Boylston Street T station (green line). The Boston Common garage is also a short walk away. Here is a map showing Flour's location in Boston Common.
What if I have an allergy?
All ticket holders will be asked to provide a full list of ingredients to display with their cake so you can decide which cakes you'd like to taste. Flour Bakery is not responsible for any allergies.
What if I purchased a ticket and can no longer attend?
Your ticket is a non-refundable donation to the No Kid Hungry campaign in honor of Share Our Strength's 40th anniversary. Tickers are however transferrable, please email info@flourbakery.com if you need to transfer your ticket to another baker.
