Nicole Rhode, Pastry Chef
"I was born and raised in Appleton, Wisconsin. At age 19, I moved to Colorado, working as an arborist and traveling the west coast. I then left Colorado and headed east, settling by the shore in Camden, Maine where I worked as an artisan soap maker and volunteer firefighter. During a visit to my uncle, a long time South End resident, I decided to move to Boston where I found work as a barista at Flour Bakery + Café. Working in a bakery brought back memories of the neighborhood bakery my grandmother used to run in Menasha, Wisconsin. So yearning to learn something more, I moved to the kitchen at Flour and became an apprentice baker. I've moved up the ladder over the last six years and now I hold the job of head Pastry Chef for both Flour Bakeries."
